Session Title: Java Platform, Enterprise Edition 6 and GlassFish Application Server V3
Session Abstract: Java Platform, Enterprise Edition (Java EE) is getting an extreme makeover with the upcoming version, Java EE 6. The Java EE 6 platform adds more power to the platform and yet makes it more flexible so that it can be adopted to different flavors of an application. It enables extensibility by embracing open source libraries and frameworks such that they are treated as first-class citizens of the platform. This session provides an overview of Java EE 6 and GlassFish V3. Using multiple simple-to-understand samples, it explains the value proposition provided by Java EE 6. It also discusses how GlassFish V3's architecture relies on OSGi for its module management coupled with a groundbreaking kernel to provide extensibility and embeddability.
